Advancing Care: Mind, Body & Spirit

The Mercy Health Foundation funds programs for all aspects of health—mind, body and spirit. Through life-saving advancements, improved outcomes, medical education for students and other initiatives, we are building a healthier Mahoning Valley, one neighbor at a time.

Aging with Dignity

Aging with Dignity

Allows senior citizens to remain at home while recovering from temporary illnesses or permanent disabilities.

Centering Pregnancy

Centering Pregnancy

A multi-faceted model of group care that integrates three major components - health assessment, education and support. Centering Pregnancy brings women together who are at similar stages of pregnancy to meet, learn care skills and form a lasting social bond.

Resource Mothers

Resource Mothers

Connecting women with mentors throughout their pregnancy to educate on pre- and post-natal care as well as healthy relationships and childcare. Each mother is taken to and from physician appointments and graduate from the program on their child's first birthday. The program helps reduce low birth weights and infant mortality in our Valley, which is highest in the state for such outcomes.

St. Elizabeth Chapel

St. Elizabeth Chapel

The St. Elizabeth Chapel in memory of Sr. Consolata Kline, H.M., will pay tribute to one of our Sisters of the Humility of Mary who dedicated her life to serving the Catholic Health Ministry in the community. During her 54-year tenure at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital, Sr. Consolata oversaw and led an expansion that would take the hospital from a general medical-surgery facility to a comprehensive health-care center. The Chapel at St. Elizabeth is a place for patients, families and employees to join our ministry in celebrating, honoring and remembering milestones that are achieved collectively. Our Sisters have focused and dedicated their lives to bringing more abundant life to God’s people – by helping continue their legacy and provide a new space for faith, we will be serving those in need for another 100 years - mind, body & spirit.
