Our next phase in comprehensive patient care

Our next phase in comprehensive patient care

Living up to the Vision 2020 principle of making access easy and recognizing that our patients want to receive healthcare closer to home, Mercy Health announced the construction of a new addition to our Perrysburg campus to house expanded services for patients in the Perrysburg and surrounding communities.

Mercy Health will build a $56.3 million facility that will house a hospital, surgery center and medical offices, all in one location. The new facility reflects a forward thinking approach whereby healthcare systems create destination campuses where patients have access to comprehensive services in one location where they live and work.

As more people look to raise their families in Perrysburg, Mercy Health will further our footprint in the community and grow the campus into a one-stop destination for the area’s healthcare needs. The hospital and medical office building will be designed with patient care in mind, especially for patients who desire a place close to home with high quality care.

The hospital will offer 28 inpatients beds designed for patients needing 2-3 nights for inpatient treatment or care. This is in addition to the 18 beds currently under construction on the third floor of the Mercy Health – Perrysburg Cancer Center, which will connect seamlessly to the new unit when the facility opens in 2019.

Patients requiring more complex care, will continue to be transferred to Mercy Health – St. Vincent Medical Center. However, with the construction of this new facility, the majority of patients will be able to stay in Perrysburg.

Not only will Perrysburg and the surrounding communities benefit from this hybrid model of care, but it will also bring up to 177 new jobs to the community by year three. The 101,000-square foot facility will begin construction this summer and is anticipated to open in spring 2019.
