About DonorDrive

DonorDrive is the website Dance Marathon at BGSU provides students to individually sign up and raise funds for ZiggyThon. Also, there are other events posted to DonorDrive like the Benefit Dinner, Extra Life, etc.
Your DonorDrive is used for collecting online donations, posting offline cash donations, and marketing Dance Marathon at BGSU on social media by posting about asking for donations with your DonorDrive link. DonorDrive is a fast and safe way for your family and friends to donate to your individual Dance Marathon at BGSU fundraising goal!

DonorDrive Social Media Tips

  • Post your DonorDrive link on social media multiple times a day at different times in the day. Why: Friends who only go on social media during a certain part of the day will see at least one of your posts and potentially donate to the cause!
  • Create a Facebook group and invite all your friends that you think will potentially donate to the cause. Post your DonorDrive link in this group, daily. This will allow you to target a specific audience when asking for donations.
  • Email your parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, and other relatives your DonorDrive link. Write a short email about where the money is going AND why you do Dance Marathon at BGSU. Make sure to include your DonorDrive link at the end!

Our Mission

Our mission, as members of Dance Marathon at BGSU, is to raise money and awareness for Mercy Children's Hospital and benefiting Miracle Families. Through fundraising and the involvement of the campus and Bowling Green communities, we will strive to make a difference in the lives of these children, and will always appreciate the opportunity we have to help make Miracles happen. We will serve as ambassadors for Dance Marathon and Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, conducting ourselves as individuals who understand and actualize our motto, "For The Kids".

The money raised from BGSU Dance Marathon goes to fund a multitude of therapies and equipment needed at Mercy Children's Hospital in Toledo, OH. At Mercy, we support:

Mercy Autism Services
Mercy Hippotherapy
Mercy Family Care Team
Mercy Child Life Department

Mercy Children’s Hospital, a member of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, is a comprehensive children’s hospital, with pediatric specialists in many fields of medicine and surgery. Students raise funds all year long for the opportunity to take part in this three day journey across the state to support the amazing miracle children, their families, and doctors/staff of Mercy Children's Hospital. The B4T ride is the only one of its kind in the state of Ohio, and is truly a program that is unique to the nation. The students that participate in B4T are not professional bikers, but simply a crazy group of college students motivated to make a difference.

Extra LifeExtra Life is an international 25-hour long gaming event that includes all types of "gaming" - video games, volleyball, card games, or even computer games. Here at BGSU, our event is shortened to 12 hours where we have gaming events and people have the opportunity to come together to play games, enter tournaments and ultimately win awesome gaming-related prizes. But these events are optional and participants can play whenever they want, wherever they want, as long as they hold true to gaming for the 12 hours. What makes Extra Life even better is that all of the money we raise will go towards medical equipment, toys, anything you can think of for Mercy Children's Hospital. These kids may not be able to leave their hospital beds and their only form of entertainment may be the same exact games we play on a daily basis.

Mini MarathonMini Marathon is a 7-hour event held at BGSU every year as a chance for high schools to participate in the fundraising for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. Every year since 2003, students from area high schools have come together to dance, interact, and play for the kids with the total amount raised throughout the year being revealed at the end of the event. Through fundraising, promotion, and dedication, Mini Marathon sets out to increase the number of participants and funds raised for the kids every year. It also offers opportunities to high schools outside of driving distance to hold their own dance marathon event in collaboration with the Mini team. Overall, Mini Marathon is an extension of the Dance Marathon's central focus on college students to students in high schools.

BGSU Dance Marathon Alumni

Alumni Immersion Program

One way to get involved is to participate in the new Alumni Immersion program we are starting this year! This program will last for six hours during Ziggython where you can participate as a dancer. In order to participate, you need to register via DonorDrive as an Alumni Dancer, and raise a minimum of $100. To register on DonorDrive, just click here. If you are busy the weekend of Ziggython or won’t be able to make it to the event, you can still get involved in our Adopt a Dancer / Adopt a Biker program!

Adopt A Dancer/Adopt A Biker Program

The Adopt a Dancer / Adopt a Biker initiative is a program that was created to help bridge the gap between Dance Marathon at BGSU alumni and current Dance Marathon at BGSU participants. Leading up to Ziggython, an alumnus is paired with a first-year dancer or biker. Interaction throughout the year is encouraged between the current participants and their alumni partners. This communication can take the form of words of support, monetary donations, or care packages. Also, there will be time during Ziggython where the current participants will meet their alumnus partner, and thank them for all of their continuous support.

This program allows former members of the Dance Marathon family to rekindle their love for the organization and for the kids. Also, this program will hugely benefit first-year dancers and bikers, whom need the extra support and guidance as they begin their journey of standing 24 hours or biking 180 miles. You can help our first-year Dance Marathon participants by being their mentor every step of the way! If you are interested in being a part of this program, you can sign up by clicking here.
