For the fourth year, the Mercy Health Foundation is designated as a 2019 High Performer by the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP). AHP gives this award to high performers who reached the top 25% in net fundraising returns out of all participating healthcare systems. These systems raised more than $22.1 million in the U.S. and more than $26.2 million in Canada in 2019.
In its Report on Giving survey, AHP analyzes institutions to determine key factors that lead to higher performance among participants. In the United States, net fundraising revenue for high performers is almost seven times higher than for all institutions reporting.
“This is a great honor,” said Michael Bezney, Chief Legal Officer for Bon Secours Mercy Health. “More important, it is a testament to the passionate work of our volunteers, staff and donors whose gifts help Mercy Health have a profound local impact in the communities we serve.”
“Giving is at the heart of our Mission at Mercy health,” said John Starcher, president and CEO of Bon Secours Mercy Health. “Our philanthropy work creates an important connection with donors, volunteers, patients and their families, who know the impact of faith-based care. Ultimately, our patients and the communities we serve benefit most from the outstanding performance of the Mercy Health Foundation.”
