Mercy Health’s Advanced Practice Providers Council is pleased to inaugurate its 2019 Advanced Practice Providers Continuing Medical Education Series with a discussion on A Comprehensive Approach to Caring for the Patient with Back Pain.

Mercy Health’s Advanced Practice Providers Council is offering this learning event for all advanced practice providers who are interested in increasing their knowledge relative to the management of patients with acute and chronic back pain.

Target Audience

Nurse practitioners, nurse midwives, nurse anesthetists, clinical nurse specialists, and physician assistants.

Participant Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this event, participants will be familiar with:

(1) Current best practices for pharmacotherapeutic treatment for the patient with acute and chronic back pain; (2) Appropriate timing and rationale for patient referral to specialty providers; (3) The varying approaches to treatment for back pain including surgical and non-surgical treatment modalities; and (4) Current Mercy Health resources to support patients with acute and chronic back pain.

Accreditations & Approvals

The Jewish Hospital - Mercy Health is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physician assistants and is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Ohio Nurses Association, an accredited provider by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
