On Tuesday, January 26, 2016, during the University of Toledo’s Men’s basketball game against Ohio, Mercy Children’s Hospital was highlighted during a special in-game ceremony sponsored by Spartan Chemical to honor and showcase the work that Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals is doing in Northwest Ohio. Each year, Spartan partners with their distributor partner, SupplyOne, and their customer, Speedway, to sponsor a miracle child through Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. "We are proud to participate in this fundraising event because of the impact it has directly in our community, providing healthcare to children in need,” said Cali Sartor, director of marketing, Spartan Chemical Company. Speedway is a national partner of Mercy Children’s through Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. “Speedway has been a partner of CMN Hospitals since 1991,” said Barb Martin, president of Mercy Children’s Hospital. “In 2015, funds raised by Speedway employees in our community to benefit Mercy Children’s totaled more than $220,000.” In addition to the special in-game ceremony, fans had a chance to engage representatives from Mercy Children’s, Mercy Foundation and UT RockeTHON prior to the game on the main concourse to learn more about how they can get involved and support the organization. “Without the generous support of companies like Spartan Chemical and a caring community, we could not continue our mission to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible,” said Kristi Frederick, program director, CMN Hospitals at Mercy Children’s.
